Do I have Mental Health problem? Mild Bipolar?
I think I might have a mental health problem. I used to cut my self[not very deep] for about a year. When I get stressed I have these extreme stress attacks. I sometimes swing from one mood to the next but not often. But when I do, I usually get people angry. Sometimes, I am crazy wild and happy. Next thing you know, someone says something obnoxious and I get furious. I also have these outbreaks where everything has to be my way. One time I just had to move all the desks in my classroom so they could be straight. What do I have?
You COULD have cyclothymia (mild bipolar), but it sounds like it could also be Borderline Personality disorder (I only say that because your description sounds a lot like what my roommate says, and she has BPD), which would account for the sudden anger. Or it could be something entirely different, I am not a trained professional yet. I'm sure a lot of it is your age too.
But if your moods and behaviors are distressing to you, then it is a pathological problem. It sounds like you could really benefit from going to talk to a psychologist (and if you don't like your psychologist, try a new one until you find one you have good rapport with, that is important). I really think you could benefit from some professional therapy. If it is interfering with your life, you need to do something about it before it gets worse. I repeat, if it is distressing to you, it IS a problem that needs attention.
If you go to a psychologist they can determine what type of problem you have, whether or not it is a disorder of some sort or something else. Either way, they'll be able to provide you will counseling and help you to regain control over your emotions. I highly recommend it, there is no shame in gaining psychiatric help. They may or may not suggest you also see a psychiatrist for some short term medication, it all depends on your diagnosis.
But none of us can tell you for sure what you have, even if I had my degree already, I couldn't tell you because a diagnosis would require many follow up questions and more descriptions.
Good luck, seriously, try and find a good therapist, I really think it would help you.
Also, if you ever want to IM, I'm willing to.
