The difference betwen borderline and bipolar?

Can someone please explain the difference between borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder? Or point me in the direction of a good resource? I've done internet research on the topic and cannot seem to find a good answer. All I seem to find is that borderline has shorter mood swings. But these days, with rapid cycling and soft bipolar, it's hard to use that as the distinguishing marker.

So what exactly differentiates borderline from bipolar?

Comment number 3 is disqualified on so many counts. Borderline is more common than bipolar and schizo and all that. Also it's not a disease. This isn't a bad case of the flu. Terrible spelling also disqualifies you. Also use of wiki.

The difference between the two is the psychologist who gives you the diagnosis.
